Founded Dobtho in 2022

Sharan Monga founded Dobtho to build cleaner, greener and healthier products. Most products described as sustainable still cost more, which limits adoption and slows scale. His position is clear: cleaner and greener products should not cost more to adopt. If sustainability depends on a premium, it will not scale. With a background in chemicals and advanced manufacturing, and experience contributing to the scale up of two Nobel Prize winning technologies, his work focuses on how materials move from development into systems that can be used in practice.

This thinking has first been applied in inherently flame resistant workwear and turnout gear. These are technical and regulated markets where performance, compliance and reliability are non negotiable. They provide a constrained environment to prove that products can replace existing solutions without disruption. Low carbon IFR workwear and turnout gear reduce carbon at source while maintaining performance, compliance and cost, enabling adoption without changes to how they are specified, bought or used.

From there, the same approach is being extended into larger markets such as healthcare uniforms, school uniforms and general workwear, where cost defines adoption and scale defines impact. Together, these categories represent a broader and more accessible market. Work is also progressing on systems built around post consumer textiles and on healthier materials, including alternatives to PFAS based chemistry. As this thinking moves across categories, it opens up wider access to cleaner and greener products. Progress is measured by what reaches the customer, with the focus now on scaling products that can replace what exists.
