The Technical Textiles segment focuses on engineered fabric systems designed for regulated and performance driven environments. It includes woven, knitted and nonwoven constructions, barrier materials and multi layer assemblies developed for industrial, institutional and infrastructure use. These textiles are built from high performance fibres and blends, including flame resistant, high strength and recycled inputs, selected according to the operational demands of each application. Functional finishes, coatings and laminations are applied where required to enhance durability, moisture management, chemical resistance, thermal performance or weather protection.
Applications span utilities, transport, healthcare, hygiene, manufacturing and public sector programmes. Textile systems are used in protective garments, high visibility workwear, filtration media, hygiene products and outer layers exposed to environmental stress. Development is aligned with measurable performance criteria and recognised standards, including requirements for flame and heat resistance, arc performance, abrasion resistance, dimensional stability and wash durability. For nonwoven and filtration systems, air and liquid permeability, structural integrity and consistency remain central. The objective is to deliver textile constructions that perform reliably in real operating conditions while remaining scalable across approved manufacturing partners. Technical Textiles form the link between Advanced Materials and Wear and Equipment, translating fibre and yarn decisions into fabric systems that support finished products across protection, hygiene and everyday performance categories.
